Makeup Review: Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray

I have wanted to try a REAL makeup setting spray for a long time now, and what I mean by "real" is that it is supposed to keep your makeup in place throughout the day, not just keep it from looking cakey like Max Fix Plus does. I knew that Skindinavia was a brand coveted by many youtubers and bloggers worldwide, but I also knew that Skindinavia made the Urban Decay setting sprays, so I decided upon the Urban Decay All Nighter.

There are lots of different makeup setting sprays that are supposed to keep your makeup in place, and some of them are even supposed to help you stay matte all day, while some are supposed to give you a dewy glow. I just chose the one that is supposed to keep your makeup looking flawless for 16 hours straight.

Urban Decay All Nighter:

In an exclusive partnership with SKINDINÄVIA, we developed thisgroundbreaking, hypoallergenic setting spray that keeps your makeup on for 16 unbelievable hours. Legendary enough that it’s already inspired imitations, All Nighter boasts a patent pending Temperature Control Technology that makes this weightless mist so powerful and sets it far above the competition. Your makeup won’t melt when it's warm and humid or become dehydrated when it’s cold and windy. Yes, it actually lowers the temperature of your makeup to hold foundation, eyeshadow, blush and concealer in place. The sprayer, unlike others on the market, delivers a micro-fine mist that distributes product evenly over the skin.

You are supposed to shake the bottle before every use, and then spray it on in an X and T formation.

What I Think of the Product:

I actually really love this product and cannot believe I have gone so long without using a setting spray. It has revolutionized the way I feel about makeup. Previously, I could only feel comfortable for maybe 5 hours wearing my makeup before it started to look cakey/fading etc. Now I can wear my makeup from the time I apply it in the mornings until the time I rinse it off in the evenings, and it still looks great!
I absolutely recommend this product to everyone!

The great thing about these sprays is that there is one for every skintype: If you are looking to control oilyness, try the De-Slick. If you want a dewy finish, try the Dew Me. Personally, I love the All Nighter as I neither want a dewy or matte finish.

I have tried this product with both foundations and bb creams, and it works amazing with all combinations. I still set my makeup with a light powder before I use the spray, but that is what I have always done. I don't really need to as it looks the same both ways, so that is a plus :)

Haircare: Lush Shampoos Overview & Review Part 1

As some of you may already know, I work at a Lush store here in Norway, and I of course love many of Lush's products. I have written a bunch of reviews on my Norwegian blog about a lot of them, but I thought I would share my reviews here as well for all of you who do not understand Norwegian. Keep in mind that even though I work for Lush, I am not paid or even asked to write reviews about these products. I write honest reviews on everything, and there are of course some products that do not work for me and that I do not like.
First up are my reviews on Lush Shampoos. I have divided these into 2 shampoos per blogpost :)

Lush Godiva Shampoo Bar:

Godiva is a shampoobar from Lush that is designed for long and dry hair, since it contains both shampoo and conditioner in one.
Godiva was the first shampoo from Lush that I tried, and I have to tell you guys that I am not a fan. It could be that I just picked the wrong shampoo bar for my hair type (damaged and dry at the time), but this shampoo never really did anything for my hair. My hair turned greasy the next day after washing it, and it was just flat and stringy which is not an attractive look.
I like the whole concept of a shampoo bar and I think I could really like them if I tried a different one. The shampoo lathered up really well and Godiva smells awesome, but I know that some people do not like this scent. Jasmine is a scent that you either love or you hate, and I love it. So I was hoping to love this shampoo, but I don't. I would not recommend Godiva unless your hair is extremely dry and in need of "calming down".

Ingredients:

Lush BIG Shampoo:

Big is Lush's most famous shampoo and the one that most people really like. It contains sea salt which lifts the hair up from its roots and gives plenty of volume, and seaweed & coconut to make the hair soft, as well as lemon and lime to give the hair lots of shine.

I absolutely loved Big when I first tried it, and I used up an entire pot of it. The thing about Big that I found, was that my hair needed a break from it after a while, since it was quite drying on my hair and the effects wore off after a while. Now that I have had a break and used different shampoos, I can tell you that I have rediscovered Big and that the effects are now as brilliant as they were when I first started using this shampoo.
The consistensy is pretty weird as it looks like.. goo.. to be childish :P The sea salt is coarse and mixed in with the other ingredients, making this shampoo very odd. But it works :) The salt dissolves when exposed to warm water, making the shampoo foam like nobody's business and lifting up the hair, giving it volume. You are supposed to shampoo twice with this product to get the best results, which I find is true.
So if you are looking for a shampoo to give you volume and shine, this is it. Just be aware that your hair might be a little frizzy at first, especially if you don't use a conditioner.
And another thing, after you have shampooed your hair, it feels weird and almost tacky. But that is natural :)

Makeup Review: Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream in #23

I have used many different BB Creams these past 2 years, and I first heard about them on youtube where a lot of "gurus" talked about how great they were etc. I had at one point 10 different BB Creams, but there were 2 that I used more than others, one of them was the Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream, but in the color #21, which was too light for me.
When I now wanted to start using my BB Creams again, they had been lost when I moved to a new apartment, so I ordered 2 online. The Missha BB Cream was one of them, and I absolutely love it, especially now that it is in the right shade for me. Here is my review of it:

What is a BB Cream?
A BB Cream is a mixture of a tinted moisturizer and a foundation. The only difference is that a bb cream has beneficial skincare properties like anti ageing, spf, whitening/lightening the skin, healing blemishes etc. There are many different brands that make bb creams, but the best ones I have tried are made in Asia, not the generic ones like Garnier's bb creams etc.

Missha's BB Cream:
The Missha bb cream is my absolute favourite product at the moment. It has spf 42 which is very high, but necessary especially during the summer. Keep in mind that these bb creams were made for Asian girls with very fair skin and who want even lighter skin since that is considered the beauty norm.
It states that this bb cream has anti ageing properties, is full cover and lightens your skin, thereby reducing redness, blemishes, spots and acne scarring, even hyperpigmentation.

My thoughts:
As I have already stated, I have used this BB cream a long time, and I can definitely vouch for what it claims to do. It has evened out my skintone and it has kept my skin free of blemishes. It's coverage is actually pretty good, even better than some foundations I have used, and it looks extremely natural on the skin. Most people can't tell that I am wearing makeup when I use this product.

I apply this in the morning after I have cleansed, toned and moisturized my face. I blend it in with my fingers as I find they do a better job of it than any brushes I own.
This product sinks into my skin and does not leave a greasy residue on my face, but I still set it with a powder and a setting spray before I run off. This is because the staying power may not be as good as for instance Revlon Colorstay foundation which lasts all day. But when I actually do set it with a powder and a spray, it lasts and looks perfect all day!

Would I recommend this product:
Yes, definitely. If you do not want to wear a heavy foundation everyday, but you find that a tinted moisturizer doesn't cover up enought for you, but you still want to look natural, but flawless, then this is the product for you. I would even recommend this to someone who struggles with old acne scars and hyperpigmentation, because it really does help. You have to use it consistently though for a couple of months to notice any major changes, but if you keep at it, I can almost guarantee you your skin would both feel and look better than if you had only used a regular foundation for the same amount of time.
